Carpenter Suffers Injury After One Week on the Job

Ridge & Downes

36-year-old carpenter was working for the employer for one week when he sustained injury to his knee. He was walking across a building site when he fell into an exposed hole. He was diagnosed with a meniscus tear and arthroscopic surgery was recommended to repair same. He underwent surgery and then began an intense course of physical therapy. Due to non-improvement in his symptoms he had to undergo in excess of 4 steroid injections and have his knee aspirated on 4 occasions. He was off work from the date of the accident for approximately 7 months and received his TTD benefits during this time. The case settled for 25% loss of use of the leg or $35,728.70, together with payment of all medical bills.
