A 29-year-old female correctional officer punched a dummy during training and broke her dominant right wrist. She was diagnosed with a displaced scaphoid fracture, which was corrected with an open surgery and fixated with instrumentation. Post-operatively she continued to experience stiffness, pain, limited mobility, and guarding when lifting. Her case was settled for 32.5% loss of use of the right hand.
